Bloggers for Hope and Chance to Hope have hosted a couple of twitter parties recently. Have you participated? I have and it's been fun.
What is so fun about a twitter party? Well for starters you meet some new twitter pals that you may not have been following before. You can also learn a lot!
Last month we hosted a twitter party where the topic was adoption. Since Ike and I are just beginning the home study process, it was great to meet and talk with some others who are going through the process or who have already been through the process.
I got some great tips from some other tweetie friends! During the chat I met a few new pals and was able to give and receive some much needed support.
I joined twitter almost four years ago. The sole reason I joined was to keep up with an IRL friend who was going through fertility treatments. I'm so glad I did join. At first I found it kind of boring. Then I started finding friends and having conversations with them. I tweet about all sorts of stuff. Infertility, stress, adoption, knitting....you name it. What about you? Do you tweet? Why or why not.
Once I started making new friends, my world began opening up to so much more information. Some of them have become amazing real life friends. In fact that's how Courtney and I met and we even went on vacation together a few weeks ago.
Twitter has been such a valuable resource for me. Both in dealing with our infertility as well as gathering a lot of information to help us in our journey. What about you? Have you found twitter to be a valuable resource?
Of course there are also downfalls to twitter. I mean what social meadia platform doesn't come with some negativity. Like Facebook for example.
But twitter and twitter parties, have been a great resource.
Our next twitter party is Monday, October 15 from 7 EST - 8 EST. To participate, you will want to follow @ChancetoHope and follow the has tag #B4HChat. Be sure your twitter settings are public so we can see your tweets. You can always go back to private after the chat.
The topic of this chat will be "Surviving the Holidays." That's a topic we can all use with the holiday season coming up.
So will you be there? I hope to "see" you there!
